VonLehman to Locate New Headquarters in Fort Wright

CPA, business advisory firm to invest $3 million in northern Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2015) – Northern Kentucky will be the home of a growing accounting and business advisory firm. Gov. Steve Beshear today announced that VonLehman & Company Inc. will develop a new, expanded headquarters in Fort Wright, adding 20 new jobs in northern Kentucky.

VonLehman, one of the largest private CPA and business advisory firms in the region, will invest $3 million in the headquarters. The 56,000-square-foot building will be located at Wright's Summit Office Complex. Construction will begin this fall and is expected to be completed in December 2016.

"Northern Kentucky continues to attract and retain great businesses. VonLehman is among 56 companies that have announced new locations and expansions this year that will bring over 2,700 jobs to the region," said Gov. Beshear. "VonLehman has been a great corporate citizen for many years, and I wish its leadership and staff all the best with this expansion."

VonLehman will continue to operate its offices in Cincinnati and Indianapolis.

"To accommodate our continued growth and to better serve our clients and staff, we have hired one of northern Kentucky's top developers to build our new state-of-the-art office building in Fort Wright," said Brian Malthouse, president of VonLehman. "The location of our new office – just off I-75/71 three miles from downtown Cincinnati – will be convenient to both our clients and our employees."

Founded in 1946, VonLehman provides services to privately held businesses, individuals, nonprofit and governmental organizations in the region. All of its services are provided by the company's in-house staff. VonLehman currently employs 56 Kentucky residents and has 110 total employees in the tri-state region.

VonLehman is the fourth company this year to announce a location or expansion of its corporate headquarters in northern Kentucky, which brings the total number of corporate headquarters in the region to 365.

"Von Lehman's investment and continued growth in northern Kentucky is an affirmation of this region's fertile ground for economic development and growth," said Rep. Diane St. Onge, of Lakeside Park. "We applaud VonLehman's achievements while welcoming the positive impact on our economy this will continue to render. The professional office sector is a significant contributor to our region's success."

"Von Lehman's expansion and solid job growth in Kenton County is welcome news for northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati region," said Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore, who also serves as board chair of Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corp. (Tri-ED). "We are encouraged by the activity we're seeing in the office and headquarters sector, which is a primary target industry for Northern Kentucky Tri-ED."

To encourage the investment and job growth in Kenton County, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $300,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.

In addition, VonLehman is eligible to receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network. Through the Kentucky Skills Network, companies are eligible to receive no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives. Last year, the Kentucky Skills Network trained more than 84,000 employees from more than 5,600 Kentucky companies.
