Gov. Beshear: Kentucky Exports Break All-Time Record in 2023, Topping $40 Billion in Products Shipped Globally
Aerospace products and parts remains top export, Canada the No. 1 destination

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 29, 2024) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear announced more Kentucky-made products were shipped around the world in 2023 than in any other year on record, as the commonwealth broke its single-year total with $40.2 billion in exports, a 16.6% increase over the previous year.

According to data recently made available by the U.S. Census Bureau, Foreign Trade Division and WISERTrade, aerospace products and parts once again led Kentucky’s exports by category in 2023. The industry shipped more than $13.3 billion in products out of the United States, representing a 27.7% increase over the previous year.

Staghorn Opens New Independent Distillery in Garrard County With $250 Million Investment, Creating 60 Full-Time Jobs
Project is first commercial distillery in formerly dry county since 1800s

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2024) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that Atlanta-based premium spirits company Staghorn is opening its first distillery, Garrard County Distilling Co., which has officially begun production in Lancaster, Kentucky.

Lakeshore Learning Materials Q&A
Recently, the Cabinet for Economic Development conducted an interview with Artin Ghazarian, chief distribution and logistics officer at Lakeshore Learning Materials. Lakeshore Learning announced in March 2023 plans to build a new distribution facility in Midway, a $27.3 million investment that will create 40 full-time jobs.

Why was Midway/Kentucky the right location for this project? Lakeshore Learning was drawn to Kentucky because of its wonderful sense of community and the state’s rich history of supporting families, education, and businesses like ours. We are so happy to be an active part of the Midway community.

What is the significance of this project for moving the company toward its objectives? This new project marks yet another step forward for both Lakeshore Learning and the surrounding local community.
