Intuitive Network Systems Wins Richmond Entrepreneur Pitch Competition

Program syncs traffic lights with approaching emergency vehicles

RICHMOND, Ky. (September 22, 2015) – One Kentucky startup, Intuitive Network Systems, is working to alleviate traffic concerns for first responders needing to reach their destination quickly. Thanks to the company's breakthrough technology, it was named the winner of the latest Kentucky Innovation Network regional pitch competition in Richmond. The company received $1,000 and an invitation to pitch its product to the Kentucky Angel Investors Network in Frankfort this fall.

Intuitive Network Systems offers a full solution for geolocation, navigation and immediate data transfer from emergency vehicles. The company's technology allows approaching first responders to automatically turn traffic lights green while responding to emergency situations. The program would allow ambulances and other emergency vehicles to avoid traffic delays in critical situations where every second matters.

Richmond's pitch competition was the latest in a series of 11 events being held throughout the state.

"Many of the attendees expressed their appreciation that the Kentucky Innovation Network provides events such as this for the community and region. This angel pitch competition is a part of the larger entrepreneurial eco-system that is being developed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky," said Kristel Smith, director of the Kentucky Innovation Network's Richmond office. "We look forward to the engagement of entrepreneurs, investors, service providers and community leaders to further strengthen the Kentucky economy."

"There were some impressive pitches here today," said George Hamilton, founder and CEO of Intuitive Network Systems. "I am very appreciative of Kristel and how she pushed me to get my presentation together for this competition."

Other pitch contests are scheduled in Elizabethtown, Paducah and Murray. Earlier this summer, Covington, Lexington, Morehead, Louisville, Ashland, London and Pikeville held regional competitions.

The next regional pitch contest is scheduled at the Brown Pusey House at 128 North Main Street in Elizabethtown on Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT.

The pitch competition, now in its second year, is sponsored by the Kentucky Innovation Network, the Office of Entrepreneurship within the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Kentucky Angel Investors Network. For more information on the competition, visit kyinnovation.com.
