The Kentucky Skills Network offers a variety of flexible funding options to help companies make skills training more affordable.

Grant-in-Aid - The Grant-in-Aid program provides reimbursement funding for worker training at Kentucky’s new and expanding companies and for skills and occupational upgrade training for workers of Kentucky’s existing companies. Qualified companies include manufacturers, agribusiness, non-retail service or technology companies, national or regional headquarters, healthcare companies and training consortia.

KCTCS-TRAINS - Through KCTCS-TRAINS, companies receive funding to assist with the cost of KCTCS provided workforce training and assessment services to current, as well as, potential employees.

On-the-Job Training Grants – For businesses that hire unemployed and underemployed individuals, an OJT grant can provided a portioned reimbursement of employee’s wages during the initial onboarding period.

Skills Training Investment Credit - The Skills Training Investment Credit program offers state income tax credits for approved training programs for existing employees of companies engaged in the manufacturing, agribusiness, non-retail service or technology, national or regional headquarters, and healthcare company sectors.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit - The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a Federal tax credit available to employers for hiring veterans and other targeted populations who often face barriers to employment. The amount of the tax credit ranges from $1,200 to $9,600 per individual hired.
